Distinction in the Scientific Paper Competition 03/12/2016 Bo¿ena Fr¹czek Ph.D. from the Department of Banking and Financial Markets was awarded in the Scientific Paper Competition for the research article titled “The illusion of financial knowledge as a threat to increasing the degree of financial inclusion and functioning of the financial market” The competition was organized in the framework of the fourth edition of the Congress of the Capital Market organized by the Faculty of Management at Warsaw University in cooperation with the National Depository for Securities (KDPW) and Clearing House KDPW_CCP as the annual meeting of practitioners with the scientific community. In the awarded paper were presented the part of results of research conducted under international scientific project "Financial knowledge and skills of young future economists in 4V Countries". | ||
Results of the Final of the International Competition on Financial Markets On 23-24 November 2015 at the University of Economics held II Workshop and Final of the International Competition on Financial Markets under the project: Financial knowledge and skills of young future economists in 4V Countries. The Opening Ceremony was graced with the presence of the Vice-Rector for Internationalization and Marketing - Prof. S³awomir Smyczek, Ph.D. On 23rd of November 2015 after the presentation the first results of research there was conducted the Poster Presentation Competition on Banking Product for Students. 1st place was taken by students from University of West Hungary ex aequo with students University of Economics in Bratislava. On 24th of November 2015 there was conducted the Final of the International Competition on Financial Markets. The Competition was attended by nineteen students from Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia. The winners of the International Competition are: 1st Place winner Marek B³achut from University of Economics in Katowice 2nd Place winner Monika S³owik from University of Economics in Katowice 3rd Place winner ex aequo Piroska Vági from University of West Hungary Radek Šimanovský from University of J. E. Purkynì in Ústí nad Labem The project is sponsored by International Visegrad Fund www.visegradfund.org. II Workshop and Final of the International Competition on Financial Markets 23-24 November 2015 On 23-24 November 2015 at the University of Economics will take place II Workshop and Final of the International Competition on Financial Markets under the project: Financial knowledge and skills of young future economists in 4V Countries. The additional event will be Poster Presentation on Banking Product for Students. The project is sponsored by International Visegrad Fund www.visegradfund.org. The coordinator of the project is the University of Economics in Katowice and the Partners are: • University of Economics in Bratislava • University of J. E. Purkynì in Ústí nad Labem • University of West Hungary The scholars team are chaired by Bo¿ena Fr¹czek, Ph.D. from Department of Banking and Financial Markets at the University of Economics in Katowice. II Workshop include: • Presentation of the results of the research • Conclusion of the research • Proposal of the further cooperation of the project 20 students from Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia will take part in the final of the competition. Poster competition will be additional event under the meeting. Students will present the poster describing the most popular or the most interesting banking or financial product for students in particular country. Invitation for the International Student Competition on Financial Markets including the fundamentals of savings and investment - national level October 5, 2015 We invite all students for participating in International Competition on Financial Markets including the fundamentals of savings and investment. The first stage – the national level of Student Competition will be held on Monday, October 5, 2015 at the University of Economics in Katowice, room 2/19 CNTI. We will start at 10.00 a.m. The best students will participate in the Final of the Competition in Poland at the University of Economics in Katowice which will be held from Monday to Tuesday, November 23-34, 2015. All students - participants will get the certificate of participation in the International Competition. The range of the contents for the Competition include fundamentals of the Financial Markets from the point of view the saving and investing: 1. Simple and Compound Interest, Annuities 2. The main segments of the Financial Market and Financial Instruments (mainly stocks and bonds) 3. Basic derivatives: Forwards, Futures and Vanilla Options. 4. Stock exchanges in Visegrad Countries - history, organizational structure (segments), instruments, main parameters: capitalizations, volumes – main information. The students have to prepare themselves. We invite students to the registration in the Secretariat of the Department of Banking and Financial Markets, building D, room 629. The University of Economics in Katowice is launching the International Research Grant March 1, 2015 From March 1, 2015 to February 28, 2016 will be realized the research project entitled Financial knowledge and skills of young future economists in 4V Countries The coordinator of the project is the University of Economics in Katowice and the Partners are: • University of Economics in Bratislava • University of J. E. Purkynì in Ústí nad Labem • University of West Hungary. The scholars team are chaired by Bo¿ena Fr¹czek, Ph.D. from Department of Banking and Financial Markets at the University of Economics in Katowice. Under the project it is planned to conduct a research on basic and expanded financial knowledge, financial skills and the level of financial inclusion with particular emphasis on student involvement in the investment processes. Many students, especially students of economics fields trying their hand at investment processes. Another objective of the project is student competition in the area of financial markets – savings and investment. Participants will be students of 4V Countries.
